THE MOST ADAPTABLE PRESS-FORMED METAL ENCAPSULATED INSULATION

Metcap® delivers durable, lightweight, and high-performance metal encapsulated insulation the most adaptable for insulated exhaust and charge air pipes. This highly adaptable solution has a thin outer shell made from embossed stainless steel foil and is formed using in-house designed and manufactured tools and jigs.

Specified insulation material is cut and applied directly on to the pipework provided. The formed stainless steel shells are then fitted around the insulation and securely welded together and on to the pipe, forming the protective outer covering.

Designed for prototyping and low volume OEM applications. Our modular press-form tooling system normally requires no upfront tool costs. With multiple deployment models MetCap offers flexibility, cost efficiency, and long service life.

Metcap® provides a robust, durable and lightweight finish that has a high visual appeal and is also fully oil and water resistant.

Advantages of Metcap

  • Thin, embossed stainless steel shell (0.4 mm thickness), to reduce weight while maintaining mechanical protection and aesthetic appeal
  • Custom-formed shells using in-house tooling and jigs, to ensure a precise fit to complex geometries, improving reliability and minimising gaps
  • In-situ welding directly onto pipework, for seamless and secure outer casing, enhancing structural integrity and reducing maintenance
  • Oil- and water-resistant finish, for durability in harsh environments and exposure to fluids, preserving insulation performance
  • Modular deployment options, to allow scaling from prototyping to full OEM production while managing tooling cost and lead time
  • Fully encapsulated insulation, which protects the core insulation from damage, moisture ingress or contamination, prolonging its thermal performance
  • Lightweight design with high visual appeal, suitable for applications where appearance matters MetCap Bespoke

The most cost-effective solution for major volumes of OEM parts. The insulated formed components can be applied in-house or supplied separately for installation by a third party
